On September 17, leadership in both Karnataka and Telangana marked the historical anniversary of the integration of the former Hyderabad State into the Indian Union. This date, commemorating the end of the Nizam’s rule in 1948, serves as a poignant reminder of the transition toward democratic governance. In Kalaburagi, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar participated in the 79th Kalyana Karnataka Utsav, while Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy observed 'Praja Palana Dinotsavam' in Hyderabad, both emphasizing the significance of this historical milestone in the context of contemporary state-building.
The Kalyana Karnataka Development Push
Focusing on the specific needs of the Kalyana Karnataka region, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar unveiled a comprehensive blueprint for progress. The government has prioritized a multi-sectoral approach, launching 940 development works valued at approximately ₹1,917 crore. These initiatives are designed to foster economic resilience by focusing on infrastructure, healthcare, tourism, and sports. By establishing the Kalyana Karnataka Economy Mission (KKEM) as a Section 8 company, the state aims to institutionalize investment efforts and accelerate industrial growth across the seven districts of the region.
Strategic Allocation of Resources
The distribution of these development funds underscores a strategic commitment to addressing regional disparities. Kalaburagi received the largest share of the investment, with 223 projects totaling over ₹1,105 crore. Other districts, including Koppal, Raichur, Bidar, and Yadgir, are also slated for significant improvements through the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB). This targeted expenditure on urban infrastructure and connectivity projects is expected to create a foundation for long-term employment and improved quality of life for local residents.

In Telangana, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy utilized the 'Praja Palana Dinotsavam' to reiterate his administration's philosophy.
